Junkei (Salt)

When you think of Akiyoshi, it’s no exaggeration to say “Junkei.”

This popular skewer is Akiyoshi’s most popular staple, and is always on the table, with most customers ordering it.

Junkei is made from hens that have finished laying eggs, and is chewy with juicy fat that permeates your mouth.

It goes well with salt or mustard.

Eating it in one bite gives the meat and fat a great texture and flavor.

One person can eat five skewers (one plate)!

Shiro (sauce)

A must-have for those who love pork intestines and offal.

It has no unpleasant odor and is easy to eat. It has a soft texture and the more you chew it, the more delicious it becomes, and it matches perfectly with Akiyoshi’s sauce.

I personally think it’s one of the top two in Akiyoshi (Jun Kei and Shiro).

Aka (sauce)

Fresh pork liver.

Soft texture and perfectly cooked, it has no strong taste or odor, making it delicious.

There are days when it is not in stock, so you are lucky when you can eat it.

Young chicken (sauce)

The tender parts of young chicken are deliciously grilled with a secret sauce.

It is very tender and popular with children and women.

Trimino (salt)

Top-grade beef tripe.

Beef Kushikatsu

A popular bite-sized beef cutlet that most people order. It may be a main dish rather than a side dish.

The hot kushikatsu is covered in a generous amount of the special sauce, which goes well with ice-cold beer.

Fried lotus root

The crispy yet chewy texture is irresistible. It’s delicious.

The onion fries are also sweet and delicious, so I always have a hard time choosing between the lotus root and the fried onions.

I feel like Akiyoshi-dori always orders it.

The Charm of Akiyoshi

Cheapness

Each skewer is a bite-sized portion, and five skewers make one plate (orders must be in units of five).

The price is also cheap, at around 400 yen per plate.

Vibrancy

When a lively young lady takes your order, she calls out “yakiba-san” and “itaba-san,” and the chefs energetically grill the skewers in front of the high heat.

Orders fly around like 10 kei (pure kei), 5 shiro, and 5 aka, and when the skewers are done, the staff member calls out “Itadakimasu!” and places them on the warming device in front of you.

Bite-sized

Once, the CEO who was eating next to me scolded me, saying, “Hey, can’t you just take a bite?”

When I listened carefully, he told me, “At Akiyoshi, you can feel the taste, texture, everything in one bite!!”

Treatment as CEO

When you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted by the CEO or the young lady, and even if you go alone, you will be greeted as if you are with 10 people (20 people if there are two).
